Meet Our Coach!
Jessica Cahill, Peoria Coach
Jessica started playing volleyball in 6th grade. Her sophomore year she started on the varsity team and went on to earn MIP (Most Improved Player) award. Her junior and senior years, she made the all-conference team and honorable mention as well as MVP and 1st team all-conference in softball.
Jessica graduated in 2002 from Juda High School in Wisconsin and earned her Associated Degree in Marketing from Blackhawk College out of Janesville, Wisconsin in 2004. From 2004-2006, Jessica coached middle school girls volleyball through the City of Scottsdale (NYS). In the past 5 years, she hosted multiple volleyball clinics for ages ranging from 9 to 14 but now spending most of her time raising her two young children, reading, exercising, and managing her online business.
Jessica is excited to share her experience and dedicated to the same fun-first, competition-second philosophy as The Starter Club. Her goal is to present volleyball fundamentals in a clinic learning format without the pressure of tryouts or starting the team
Mission Statement: The Starter Club is a volleyball organization created by players who truly love the game and want to share that passion with others. We are dedicated to providing organized junior sand volleyball with structured practices designed to develop and enhance skills. The games will be coach-officiated and played on well-maintained courts. We encourage parent participation and promote fun above all, yet understand competition is a beneficial aspect of any sport. We also enjoy giving back to the communities we play in, by donating proceeds from several tournaments to worthy causes such as the Boys & Girls Club.
Starter Club Culture: We welcome all junior volleyball players, both boys and girls, of any skill level from ages 12-18. There are NO TRYOUTS because EVERY player makes the Club. The Starter Club was created to allow all players the opportunity to learn the game, whether just starting out or advancing acquired skills. Our coaches will introduce the game with a Fun-First, Competition-Second philosophy in a unique 10 week format.
Goal: The Starter Club will offer junior sand volleyball with the help of professional players and experienced coaches. Professional volleyball player, Ryan Mariano, will provide several clinics in Arizona throughout the year and FREE online videos at www.youtube.com/thesandclub. The Starter Club will offer an internet-savvy form of communication with Facebook posts for parents while maintaining direct contact at 480.560.5090 or email.
We Are A Player's Club: The Starter Club welcomes input from all players and parents and offers an internet-savvy form of communication with Facebook Events and live broadcasts on Twitter. Please feel free to email, call 480.560.5090, or post comments on our Facebook Fan page.
